Information On Traveling With Your 1Ds Iii
Posted by Expert Photographer in General Photography on July 28, 2010
There’s nothing like owning a great camera while traveling and Canon’s 1Ds iii is quite the gem to do so with. If your traveling to a tropical island, roaming the Mexican Riviera, train hopping thru Europe, or exploring the vast African expanse there are things to keep in mind when traveling with your 1Ds iii.
If you plan to fly the skies to your dreamy destination, always keep your 1Ds iii in your carry-on. You have quite an purchase in your hands and you do not want to run the risk of your checked baggage being sent to Berlin even though you arrive in Barbados in addition to miss one of their unbelievable sunsets. Not to mention risking unscrupulous baggage handlers picking thru your bags in search for such items. Your 1Ds iii is like your other child, keep her next to you. Flying solo and must use the lavatory? Add a lock to your bag even though you’re gone. It’s not like you will be having a photo shoot during your flight.
If you plan on driving to your destination (or during whilst well), always keep your 1Ds iii inside a camera bag. Braking fast or dangerous road conditions will ensure it is a large amount always safe. Never leave your 1Ds iii in plain sight though you pump gas or walk into a convenience store. All it takes a minute for the common thief to swipe it. Exiting the car for a long period of time? Either bring the 1Ds iii with you, or store it in the trunk.
One thing I find a good number distressing while traveling (really anywhere for that matter) is how people will carelessly advertise their gear out in the open. Of course we all will whip out our camera although in front of the Eiffel Tower or the Golden Gate Bridge. Thieves are always on the look out for a prime target both in their gear in addition to the holder of that gear. If you are the wear-my-camera-around-my-neck guy, toss to the side the Canon 1Ds iii camera strap in addition to buy a strap with no wording, you are literally advertising to the thieves what you carry. Plus third party straps can be easier on the neck and more comfortable during a long tour.
If you like to keep your camera in a bag although not in use ( like myself), mull over buying a bag that doesn’t look like a camera bag at all. There are countless camera bag suppliers that design bags that resemble backpacks or side wearing book bags, yet another deterrent for the picky thief.
Use common sense as well as be aware of your surroundings and your 1Ds iii will always be safe as well as add to a much happier trip.
One of the joys of traveling is chatting with locals and perhaps learning a bit about their culture as well as country. You may yourself walk up to one to ask for directions or may be even approached by one. Either way, I advocate resting your hand on the bag housing your 1Ds iii. By frequently keeping your hand on the bag, you’ll ensure that there hasn’t been any weight change from an unseen thief carefully swiping your precious 1Ds iii (several times thieves work in packs). Thieves will probably be acquainted with your vigilance in addition to common sense as well as simply move on.
These are simply of couple of tips although traveling abroad to ensure the safety of not simply your 1Ds iii but more importantly, yourself. Visiting far off places or possibly the state next door can be very rewarding as well as exciting. Practice some common sense in addition to 1Ds iii will do the rest with pictures

Write Specific Image Descriptions And Get Your Images Noticed!
Posted by Expert Photographer in General Photography on June 23, 2010
The photo description field is a very important tool that contains most of the keywords used in photo . The descriptions should describe the image as much as possible. When a customer is searching for a specific image such as the New York skyline, the words ‘New York skyline’ become the key search terms and the description field is the first read field in the search. Thus, the images containing the words New York skyline in the description will be the first to appear in the search results. Many artists try to get cute with their descriptions thinking it will get their images noticed when in fact it does the opposite. In some cases they turn the descriptions into titles such as ‘Magic of Broadway’ or ‘It’s My Kind of Town’ which will cause the photos to result in a lower return than if they used image specific keywords. The images will get buried and, in some instances, become the result of a search for an unrelated photo . For instance, when a customer performs a search using the keywords ‘small town’ or ‘magic’, they will be frustrated when the search results bring up a man performing a magic trick or a barn out in the country instead of images depicting the New York skyline.
Your photos and illustrations deserve specific descriptions to get them noticed. To get the best search results stay away from cute titles and put in descriptions that fit your images. Using cute titles and descriptions not specific to your images will only frustrate you and our clients.
Here are some solutions that will help you gain better search results:
1. Write specific descriptions- If the image is of a young couple embracing describe it as a ‘young couple embracing’. Do not title it ‘puppy love’.
2. Use the correct names, etc. – Name the city or landmark. If the photo is of Mount Rushmore then name it as such. Do not describe the photo as ‘American Heroes’.
As you can see, descriptions are very important and affect the way your photos and illustrations come up in searches. Thus, the more targeted information you can provide in describing your photos the better. So, please do the New York skyline justice and describe it as such. Customers looking for images of the New York skyline will appreciate it and your images will have a better chance of getting sold if they can be found with ease.

Beginners Photography – Notice Effortless Habits For Better Photographs!
Posted by Expert Photographer in General Photography on May 14, 2010
Moving from a usual photographer to a good quality one does not want to be a quantum leap. Many beginners, photography starts out as a casual hobby, and at these moments it is trouble-free to get into very bad habits that are difficult to fracture later on. However there are easy to go after tips that can rapidly push you down the street to superior photography. Consequently, inside a short time, you can with no trouble go from average, to high quality and on to huge. Let’s look at three of these easy to affect ideas.
This first point sounds noticeable, I recognize, but forever obtain your camera with you! At what time I began to take photography seriously, I realized I had missed too many opportunities, just by not having my camera to give. Just the once, my wife and I were taking a amble back from a shopping trip through a narrow park. Fairly by option, she spotted a kingfisher hovering above a waterside plant, with its wings a blur of motion. “Pity you haven’t got your camera with you” she thoughtfully exclaimed! From that day on I vowed never to obtain caught out another time.
Now, I may seem like some type of camera geek – or yet a tourist – but I don’t worry.
Get lots of pictures. To some beginners, photography means receiving each picture truthful, as in film photography days. At the same time as this is a good discipline to try to adhere to; you should not horror testing too. Therefore, find out there and go mad. On a day out, at the zoo for example, don’t response with 50 photos – take 500! Don’t look forward to each picture to be a work of art, though. As soon as downloaded to your PC, alertly sift through the ones that are fine, and cancel (or file) the ones that are not up to the mark. These remaining photos are the ones you can know-it-all.
Don’t withhold on print document or ink quality. If you have gone to the trouble of taking common photographs, and carefully worked your way through them to choose only the finest images, it’s a embarrassment to print them stumpy quality. If you desire to print photos at home, ensure you use good photographic paper. The identical photo that looks motionless, fuzzy or dark on copy paper can look theatrical, sharp and bright on glossy photographic paper. Likewise, steer obvious of using low-priced third party inks. Your printer’s manufactured inks will supply the best quality.
Affect these noticeable, but trouble-free to fail to remember, ideas and your photographs will rapid start to increase – both in quality and in the choice of photos you make.
